Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans to make marijuana legalization a top priority in 2019.
The governor outlined his agenda for the first 100 days of his third term during an address to the New York State Bar Association on Dec. 17. While light on specific details, Cuomo said it was time to legalize recreational use of marijuana "once and for all."
Mayor Bill de Blasio echoed the governor's comments with the release Wednesday of a task force report that fully endorses a legal framework for marijuana sales in the city.
